About Bhavya Foundation

Bhavya Foundation is a birthday gift to Bhavya and was launched on August 10, 2009.  “Bhavya Foundation” works for the welfare of child in general and children caught in a matrimonial dispute of their parents in particular.

The aims and objectives of “Bhavya Foundation” are based on research findings worldwide which indicate that children do best when both parents are actively involved in their lives, even after parent’s separation or divorce. We believe that when conflict between parents will get reduced and the mental and emotional health of children will improve. This is possible when divorcing parents can be assured of equal and meaningful contact with their children with mutual cooperation.

Bhavya Foundation believes that Indian legal system is still based on patriarchal mindset, which considers fathers as not capable of nurturing the children. However, fathers are competent of taking care of the needs of the children for normal upbringing. With rise in number of working parents in nuclear family setup, father’s involvement in raising the children is a must. Otherwise, the child is simply left at the mercy of servants and strangers in day care centers and exposed to all sorts of child abuse. A father’s absence can be filled up ONLY by a father, there is no substitute and father’s presence is a must for child and a father’s absence in general due to divorce or separation is an injustice to the child.
