India has made rapid strides in the health sector since independence. While the health statistics of rural India continue to be poor, the health status and access to health for the poor in urban slum dwellers and rural areas has surfaced to be equally deplorable. Despite accounting for 1/4th of the country’s poor population, urban areas have less than 4% of government primary health care facilities.
Urban slum dwellers suffer from adverse health conditions owing to mainly two reasons –first the lack of education and thus lack of awareness; and second the unwillingness to lose a day’s wage in order to reach the nearest medical facility. Health for underprivileged, which is a desperate need, thus remains unaddressed. As a result, cases of poor women health, malnourishment in children and deaths from preventable diseases from such areas are always high.
Fulfilling the requirement of a health NGO in India, Bhavya foundation keeps on organizing free medical health camps and providing free medicines & other requirements time to time.
Recently we have given free OPD to 500 cardiac & neuro patients in Gogamedi village
Shelter for old needy & Disabled
We provide shelter based on concept of RAIN BASERA for poor & needy people in winters with basic gadgets to prevent people affected by winter as temperature goes 2 degree Celsius.
The mission is founded on the firm belief that the disabled do not need sympathy -- they need a supportive environment to grow and fulfil their needs, potential and dreams. We are providing trainings for employment of people with disabilities, specially in small scale industries. Also we focus on medical camps for physically challenged people and keep on providing artificial limbs to them to perform better as a normal human being.
We are planning to open up an Institute of Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation Training working in the field of disability rehabilitation. We are planning to help one hundred (100) Children with Special Needs (MR, HI, CP, Autistic, OH, MD) who are getting Special Educational Services, Vocational Training, Therapeutic Services (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Psycho-therapy), and Other Medical Services under the guidance of Special Educators.
